Discover the Elegance of Champagne Refrigerators
As wine collectors, also known as wine enthusiasts, begin to realize the importance of storing their wine efficiently and effectively, champagne is also becoming more involved in practical preservation! With freestanding wine coolers, undercounter wine coolers, and integrated wine coolers becoming the standard for wine bottles, it has been well documented that champagne needed its own model and design. While wine and champagne share some similarities, there are also conflicting characteristics that must be considered when crafting a champagne bottle design.
Every feature of the champagne fridge ensures that your favorite champagne is stored at the optimum temperature instead of guessing in a regular refrigerator. Adding a sleek, stylish champagne fridge (available for undercounter, built-in and freestanding use) will create an elegant look for your kitchen. Not only does it look luxurious, but they also support your large champagne bottles or wine bottles for daily use (if desired). If you are looking to renovate your kitchen - by adding marble, stainless steel and other modernized accessories, you will notice an enhanced contemporary feel to this space. Therefore, adding a champagne fridge (black or silver) will only enhance the visual appeal of your kitchen.
Differences between a Champagne Fridge and a Normal Wine Fridge
Since wine bottles are typically smaller than your average champagne bottle, there are going to be some conflicting storage options needed. Along with the chemicals and substances in each being completely opposite, there are going to be inconsistent temperature/humidity needs for each beverage. As you can see, there are going to be a lot of differences between the two drinks - so let's go through them one by one.
Storage needs
First of all, you will notice that in a normal wine cooler the shelves are displayed backwards. For wine bottles, this is the most effective way to store the largest amount. Whereas in champagne coolers the shelves are displayed horizontally. Due to the width and size of the champagne bottles, it is much more productive to have the bottles horizontally underneath each other.
Relief
The Dunavox Sera series champagne cooler range comes with a plethora of lighting options when compared to most other wine coolers. For a stunning effect, each champagne cooler comes with white, blue and amber LED lighting. Although our wine coolers also have LED lighting (for eco-friendly reasons), this one simply has more options for an aesthetically pleasing look.
Distance between the planks
As discussed, champagne bottles are much larger than your typical 750ml wine bottle. Therefore, in a champagne fridge, you will notice that the distance between the shelves is much larger. This is to prevent the bottles from bumping into each other and potentially breaking in your fridge.
Features of a Champagne Fridge (Dunavox Sera Collection)
With champagne becoming increasingly popular and collectors understanding the optimal storage needs of their bottles, it’s important to make sure everyone is aware of what a champagne cooler can do. Let us take you through some of the key features of a champagne cooler in all its decorative glory:
Temperature/Humidity Control
Champagne is best served cold, like most beverages. However, there are optimum temperatures for every beverage. However, some temperatures can freeze or overheat your beverage to the point where it is permanently ruined. Typically, champagne, wine, beer, etc. are stored in a regular refrigerator. The downside to this is that you cannot control or physically see the temperature or humidity of your beverage. Unlike a champagne refrigerator, a champagne chiller allows you to control the temperature and humidity. This ensures that your champagne is at the optimum temperature of 8-10°C and optimum humidity of 70-85%.
Diversity
Below this text you will see two different champagne coolers. One can store up to 40 bottles and the other can store up to 143 bottles. Depending on your level of collection, these will either be suitable for a beginner or an advanced collector for the best of both worlds. Each single zone champagne bottle wine cooler can accommodate small collections (if you only want to store champagne to drink for the weekend). Or if you are looking for a long term storage option for many bottles - the larger champagne cooler will be the better choice.
Vibration-free
Having a champagne fridge is an extremely impressive design to prevent vibrations from ruining your drink. Vibrations can disrupt the chemical process and natural occurrences of champagne - ultimately resulting in a less impressive taste, smell and appearance. However, with the Dunavox Sera series, this will not be an issue you have to worry about.
